Aqua America Earns ''Green Power'' Award
BRYN MAWR, Pa., Nov 07, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture) recognized Aqua America, Inc. (NYSE:WTR) among a select group of organizations and individuals for using energy-saving technologies of the future. PennFuture, one of the state's leading environmental organizations, recently announced the honor at its Sixth Annual Green Power Awards luncheon in Philadelphia.
PennFuture recognized Aqua America for purchasing wind-generated electricity to power 100 percent of the company's energy needs for its headquarters in Bryn Mawr and two administrative buildings in Chester County for one year. The company purchases the power from PECO WIND, PECO's environment-friendly wind power option.
