Philadelphia Suburban Corporation to Host Analyst Day at the New York Stock Exchange January 16

BRYN MAWR, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 2004--Philadelphia Suburban Corporation (NYSE:PSC) will host an analyst day on January 16, 2004 at the New York Stock Exchange from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST as part of its name and ticker symbol change celebration.

Beginning at 1:00 p.m., several key senior officers of the company will deliver presentations on the company's performance and strategy, concluding with a question and answer period. The entirety of the presentations will be webcast live at www.suburbanwater.com.

The names of presenting officers follow in order of the afternoon's agenda:

  • Christopher Franklin, Vice President Public Affairs and Customer Operations

  • Karl Kyriss, President Pennsylvania Operations

  • Rick Hugus, President Southern Operations

  • Roy Stahl, Chief Legal Officer

  • David Smeltzer, Chief Financial Officer

  • Nicholas DeBenedictis, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Following the management presentations, PSC Chairman, Nicholas DeBenedictis, will ring The Closing Bell at the Exchange to commemorate the company's name change to Aqua America, Inc. The company will begin trading under its new ticker symbol (NYSE:WTR) on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 following the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday, January 19.

DeBenedictis said, "This is an exciting time for the company. The analyst event will provide us an opportunity to share our strategy and vision for the company and the water industry with analysts and investors, and also allow our shareholders to celebrate our name and ticker symbol change with us. The presentations and a video clip of our officers ringing The Closing Bell will be archived on the company Web site for 30 days following the event. The company's Web address will change to www.aquaamerica.com on January 17, 2004.
