Philadelphia Suburban Corporation Expects Increase in Third Quarter 2001 Earnings BRYN MAWR, Pa., Oct 26, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Philadelphia Suburban Corporation (NYSE:PSC) expects to report increased earnings per share for the third quarter over the 2000 level of $.32, and significantly increased income from operations over the third quarter 2000 levels of $.30 per share (exclusive of merger recovery costs).
The Company will release operating results for the quarter on Friday, November 2, 2001. The Company also expects net income per share to exceed consensus estimates.
The Company's third quarter earnings growth follows improved first and second quarter 2001 earnings of $.24 and $.28 per share, respectively, is largely the result of increased revenues based on a growing customer base and increased water consumption, and is accompanied by an improvement in the Company's key operating performance measures, in comparison to the same period in 2000.
