Robert Davis

Robert Davis is the president of Aqua Ohio’s water and wastewater utility at Essential Utilities Inc. (NYSE: WTRG), one of the largest publicly traded water, wastewater and natural gas providers in the U.S., serving approximately 5.5 million people in 10 states.

As president, Davis is responsible for leading strategy, operations and administration for Aqua Ohio’s 33 water and five wastewater treatment facilities, which serve approximately 500,000 residents. He also contributes to ongoing Company efforts addressing Ohio’s infrastructure needs and the increasing complexity of water quality treatment.

Professional History

Prior to joining Aqua, Davis served for six years as director of public utilities for the City of Cleveland, where he was responsible for more than 1,700 employees, leading operations for Cleveland Water, Cleveland Water Pollution Control and Cleveland Public Power. He began his career in 1986 as a laborer at the Warren, Ohio utility services department. Davis was promoted to several roles during his tenure, including plant operator, superintendent of water treatment and distribution. In 1993 he also served as the superintendent of water treatment and distribution for the City of Campbell. He later served as director of utility services for the City of Warren from 2002-2015, where he was responsible for water, sewer, sanitation and storm water.

Education and Professional Memberships

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from West Virginia University. He currently holds an EPA Class IV water supply certification and an EPA Class II certification in water distribution. He is also a past president of the Ohio American Water Works Association (OAWWA).
