President, Delta Natural Gas
John Brown is president of the Delta division of Essential Utilities, Inc.
Delta provides natural gas services to approximately 40,000 residences and businesses across 34 counties in central and southeastern Kentucky. Delta operates 2,600 miles of pipeline in addition to natural gas storage and processing facilities.
Professional History
In his role as president for Essential Utilities’ Winchester, Kentucky-based subsidiaries—including Delta, Delta Resources, Delgasco, and Enpro, John is responsible for the regulated and non-regulated natural gas operations, as well as business development throughout the state, and regulatory relations with the Kentucky Public Service Commission.
John is a seasoned utility industry executive and financial expert with over three decades of experience leading operational, financial, and strategic success. Prior to his current role, John served as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer, Corporate Secretary, Controller, and Accounting Manager. Before joining Delta, John managed the Arthur Andersen audits of five Securities and Exchange registrants, several not-for-profit entities, and employee benefit plans.
Education, Professional Memberships & Honors
John holds an MBA from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in Management Information Systems and a BA in Accounting and Business Management from Asbury University. He has completed the American Gas Association’s Executive Leadership Development Program, the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Leadership Academy, and the United States Energy Association’s Partnership Program exchange to Yerevan, Armenia.
