Daniel Ramirez-Cisneros

Daniel Ramirez-Cisneros is the president of Aqua Texas, which provides water and wastewater services to more than 300,000 people in 56 counties across the state. Aqua Texas is a subsidiary of Essential (NYSE: WTRG), one of the largest publicly traded water, wastewater and natural gas providers in the U.S., serving approximately 5.5 million people across 9 states. 

In his role, Ramirez-Cisneros leads water and wastewater operations throughout the company’s Texas business, guiding capital investment, regulatory compliance, and customer service during a pivotal phase of growth.

Professional History

Ramirez-Cisneros has nearly a decade of industry experience. Prior to serving as President of Aqua Texas, Ramirez-Cisneros served as Director of Operations. Before joining Aqua, he was the Utilities Manager for the Puerto Rico Financial Oversight Board, where he was instrumental in the development of a $5 billion recovery plan and oversaw a $1 billion infrastructure budget for the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority. He also held roles with 374Water and began his career in institutional finance at the Bank of Montreal.

Education & Professional Memberships 

Ramirez-Cisneros earned his Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Texas and his Master’s in Environmental Management, Water Resources Management from Duke University.
