Biography

Lawrence Carson is the president of Aqua New Jersey, which provides water and wastewater service to about 182,000 people in 31 municipalities across New Jersey. Aqua New Jersey is a subsidiary of Essential (NYSE: WTRG), one of the largest publicly traded water, wastewater and natural gas providers in the U.S., serving approximately 5.5 million people in 10 states.

In his role, Carson leads water and wastewater operations throughout the company’s New Jersey business, including water resources, safety performance, environmental compliance, infrastructure improvement projects and customer growth.

Professional History

Carson has more than 30 years of diverse professional experience. Before joining Aqua New Jersey as president in 2020, Carson served as owner and president of Carson Management Consulting Co., where he provided engineering and management consulting services with a focus on service delivery improvement to multiple utility and municipal clients and projects. Previously, he was a senior design engineer with Sustainable Energy Generation Group based in Wilmington, Del. and served more than 20 years in various leadership roles with the City of Wilmington.
